Don't keep spinning the wheels
Spinning the tires digs the car in deeper and can overheat the transmission. Turn off the engine if you'll be waiting a while, and keep the exhaust pipe clear of snow if you run the engine for heat. A blocked exhaust can push carbon monoxide into the car.
Common recovery calls
- Winter slide-offs into ditches and medians
- Cars stuck in snowbanks or unplowed lots
- Vehicles sunk in mud, grass or soft shoulders
- Cars hung up on curbs, rocks or parking blocks
After the winch-out
Once the car is back on solid ground, check for leaks, warning lights and anything dragging. If it isn't safe to drive, we'll put it on the flatbed and tow it to a shop.
